Biography
A graduate of Rutgers College and Seton Hall University School of Law, Joseph L. Mecca, Jr. was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1986 and has been practicing law for more than 38 years.
Mr. Mecca’s practice includes a concentration in residential and commercial real estate and zoning matters, business law, estate planning and administration, family law, and civil litigation. In addition to his private practice, he serves as attorney for the Hackensack and Ridgewood Planning Boards and the Teterboro and Emerson Land Use Boards. He currently serves as the Paramus Municipal Judge, a position that reflects his long-standing dedication to the community in which he was born and raised.
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Mecca has been deeply involved in civic and professional service. He is a past president of the Paramus Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, and has served as a volunteer attorney for the Bergen County Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project. He has also served on the Supreme Court District IIA Ethics Committee and is a member of the Bergen County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
