Our History
For more than fifty years, The Mecca Law Firm has been a trusted name in northern New Jersey, representing generations of individuals, families, and businesses with integrity, experience, and compassion. Founded by Hon. Daniel P. Mecca (Ret.), a respected Bergen County Superior Court Judge who was admitted to practice in 1970, the firm was built on the belief that the practice of law is above all a service to the community. Judge Mecca established the firm in Paramus in 1987, and today continues to provide his insight and experience through civil mediations and arbitrations.
His brother, Joseph L. Mecca, Jr., joined the firm after graduating from Rutgers College and Seton Hall University School of Law. For nearly four decades, Joseph has led the firm with the same dedication to family values and community involvement that have defined its reputation. His practice spans real estate and zoning law, estate planning and administration, family law, business transactions, and civil litigation. In addition to his private practice, Joseph serves as attorney for the Hackensack and Ridgewood Planning Boards, as well as the Teterboro and Emerson Land Use Boards, and currently serves as Judge of the Paramus Municipal Court.
In 2015, their niece Linda F. Kitz joined the firm, bringing with her extensive experience in insurance defense and litigation. A graduate of Fordham University and Brooklyn Law School, Linda combines her broad legal background with a deep commitment to serving families in her community. Linda focuses her practice on civil and estate litigation, family law, and divorce matters, representing clients with a steady balance of advocacy and compassion.
Joseph L. Mecca III represents the next generation of attorneys at the firm. Born and raised in Paramus, he graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2021. Joseph focuses his practice on estate litigation, real estate, and family law, continuing the firm’s long-standing tradition of practical and compassionate representation.
